What is a short haul move?
This is a move that is less than 450 miles. Make sure to inquire with your moving company as you may have to pay long distance charges even for short haul moves.

What is a local move?
This usually refers to moves that are less than 100 miles and within the same state.

What is an intrastate move?
This refers to a move of more than 100 miles within the same state.

Will my moving company get rid of any extra trash?
Yes, but they will charge you for any items they need to take to a waste disposal location, including the time required to drive to and from the area and the management fee required.

How can I make sure my items are moved to the correct room?
Choose a consistent labeling system such as color coding your boxes or labeling them with consistent letters for their specific location. For example, boxes can be marked with blue to indicate the living room or DR can be written to indicate the dining room.

Will my movers clean my home once my move is complete? 
Most professional movers will clean up any mess they have made during the actual move. However, they don’t perform general house cleaning so you must hire a professional cleaning service or perform this task yourself. 

Why do you ask for my email address and phone number?
We require an email address and a valid phone number so our partner moving companies can contact you and quote your move.  Most companies will schedule a time to come to your location and write up an estimate on what your move will cost with that specific moving company.

Should I take an inventory of my items before moving?
Yes, we recommend that you complete a detailed inventory of all the items within your home before the actual move. If possible, take digital photos or a video of the contents in each room. Make sure to store the photos or video safely during your move, because they can be very helpful if you need to file an insurance claim.

Should I disassemble my furniture before the move? 
You can do this if you have time, but it’s not required. If your movers need to dismantle any furniture, they will reassemble it in your new home.

What are linehaul charges?
These are basic charges for long distance move that are calculated by the weight of your shipment and total mileage.

How will my movers know which items to take and which ones should be left?
Make sure you clearly indicate to your packers and movers which exactly which items should be moved and which should stay behind. Mark all boxes appropriately and if possible, designate a separate area for items that should stay.

Can my movers disconnect my gas?
No, movers are not licensed to disconnect gas so you will have to hire another professional to perform this service.
